2011年 国際宇宙ステーション(ISS)に約5ヶ月半滞在。「きぼう」日本実験棟での実験やISSの維持管理を行ったほか、最後のスペースシャトルミッションとなったSTS-135の支援などを実施
2023-2024年 クルードラゴン宇宙船運用7号機(Crew-7)Endurance号に搭乗し、第69次/第70次長期滞在クルーとしてISSに約6ヶ月半滞在。地上では得られない宇宙での微小重力環境を使い地上の生活を良くする様々な実験や、有人月探査やその先に向けた技術実証等を遂行
